How much will you pay for an authentic James Harrison Superbowl record breaker T-Shirt? I think this shirt may have been worn during the Super Bowl game and James made his record breaking touch down. I think the guy that has this shirt stole it off his back while he was in the shower.
Or possibly you’d like to bid on Aretha’s hat she recently wore at the Oh’Bama inaugeration. She says she’s not sure if she is going to let the Smithsonian Institute have it.
And if nothing else you could always bid on Michael Swim Phelps’s hooka pipe. He says he used bad judgement. Probably thought the pipe was a bad fit for his teeth.
Or possibly my dirty socks.
I don’t know. I guess the Super Bowl brings out the best or worst in me. Sigh…
Till death do us part… Excuse me! But what does that mean? Does it mean I will stick with you as long as I “FEEL” like I love you? Does it mean I will be faithful as long as you stay young and perky? OR does it mean I will stay faithful and love you until death separates us?
Believers in our church are beginning a movement to turn our eyes and hearts to God every 60 minutes for 60 days. God has impressed me that for now, I am to pray for specific marriages. These couples include friends, family and even a new friend reqesting prayer in Barbados.
Something really profound happened today. A friend called today and said he was bringing his wife to town as a surprise and wondered if we could meet for dinner at the River Walk. We hadn’t seen each other for years and he reminded me that they were in a marriage enrichment class we taught 10 or 15 years, ago.
Our meeting was not a coincidence. It was God reminding me. The battle for marriages is worth the fight. If I can pray for you or a friend of yours, let me know. I will be honored to add your choice to my list. God is in the miracle working business for those that love Him.
I look forward sharing some incredible “God Spots” with you as God rescues marriages!
After reading the Father Lawrence story, I decided I wanted to live in God’s presence too. I know as a believer, I live with God engulfing me with His Spirit. But, most of the time I am unaware of His presence. You know the feeling or lack of it? Right?
You and I both know that when you make a decision to step up your commitment to Christ a notch, you will be challenged or at least sensitized to your failures. It seemed the challenges were non-stop on Sunday. Not enough of this. Too much of that. This broke. What’s wrong with that. Why didn’t you? “Do this. Don’t do that. Can’t you read the signs”. Hey, I think there is a hippie song written with those words.
So it looks like I owe some apologies for the times I reverted to my old self. But you know, there were times when I did ok, also. If you are reading this and you were one of the ones I grumped at, I extend my sincerest apologies. Just consider it an honor that God allowed you to be used in a ‘God Spot’ in drawing me closer to His presence. Sorry for the pain it caused you. I’ll keep trying.
Maybe I’ll do better today…..
“Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace”. Matthew
There are lawyers practicing law. There are doctors practicing medicine. They spend half their life going to school so they can practice their life’s work. I wonder about believers. What should believers practice?
An attorney might say, “I am a lawyer. I practice law”. Because you and I are believers, we might say, “I am a believer. I practice beliefs. I am a Christian. I practice Christianity.” This gives me a bit of confidence, that maybe I don’t have to get everything right the first time. After all, I am still practicing.
Isn’t it great that God is patient as we practice our beliefs. Just like the doctor who practices medicine and goes to school to keep up with the changes in medicine, we as believers never get out of school. God is always there leading and teaching. We keep practicing.
“And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it”.
