They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul. 13 All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman. 14 They took an oath to the LORD with loud acclamation, with shouting and with trumpets and horns. 15 All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.

Hi Archie;
“All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman” really bothers me. Small I think refers to children.
God of Israel could imply there may be a God of Gentiles. God can do what God wants, but God must know children are just that, how can they be held to account? If life is disposable, why even try to have peace on this world?
Might as well by a gun and take what you can.
Jesus and others would not promote death to innocents. I think the people who want the God of Israel can have Him.
My God is built a little differently.
Archie, I LOVE your site. You’re the best! (Actually, I’m jealous brother…:^)
Love you,
Rich
