My mother is in the winter of her life. She wonders why God has not taken her home. She is precious as she shares her memories of how God used her for over 80 years to do His good will and purpose in other people’s lives.
Today, I stopped by and took her to lunch. I was proud to have her hang on to my arm when we walked. Over BBQ I asked mom, what was one of the most memorable events in your life? She shared about the time God had sent them to Hamilton in Ontario, Canada. Their mission was to share provisions and God with the homeless.
She was most impressed one Wednesday evening in late fall. My dad had picked up 10 – 15 homeless off the street and took them to dinner and a church prayer meeting. One of the homeless said he was concerned about the ones that had less then them at the meeting because winter was coming on and they would need warm clothes. He suggested his fellow homeless friends pool what they had to help those less fortunate.
There is a rich man and a poor man standing side by side. God looks down on them. Which one does He love more?
