Battle of Little Big Horn or The Battle of Greasy Grass Creek

I was reading a novel by Zane Grey about the Battle of Little Big Horn.  It was a fun read, requiring little thought and a lot of day dreaming.  I came inside my hotel and turned on the history channel and it was about the Battle of Little Big Horn.  The coincidence drew my attention and I have been pondering this epic battle in Army history.  It was a sad day for both the winners and losers.  It makes me wonder.  Did anyone win? With that thought, does anyone ever win in war? Maybe… but what?

It is the desire of my heart that God be Lord of my life. Life’s experiences have killed the old man and God is building a new creation in me. I look forward to experiencing the new man God creates in the old vessel known as Archie via "God Spots".

  1. My great, great uncle was the surgeon at that battle – Major Sharrow…have a copy of the newspaper report from a nearby town days after the battle listing him among the dead.

  2. That is incredible! I ran across the Sharrow name when I researching about Little Big Horn and thought of you. Never dreaming there would actually be a connection. The book, “Bloodshed of Eagles” lists W.H.Sharrow as one of the dead. That is special! Treatment of the Indians during the wild west days is sure not something we can be proud of.
