Somalia Islamic Militants Behead Four Christian Orphanage Workers

Have you ever wondered why a person would choose death over life? When a person is having his finger nails torn out, why doesn’t he or she deny Christ? When a person is thrown in prison with unimaginable inhumane treatment, why isn’t Christ denied? To deny Christ, seems reasonable.  Surely, He wouldn’t want you to suffer?

MOGADISHU, SOMALIA (Worthy News)– Christians in Somalia faced a tense day Thursday, August 13, amid fresh reports that fighters of the country’s main Islamic insurgent group al-Shabab beheaded four Christian aid workers for refusing to renounce their faith in Christ.

International Christian Concern (ICC), a major advocacy group investigating reports of religious persecution, told Worthy News that al-Shabab members killed Fatima Sultan, Ali Ma’ow, Sheik Mohammed Abdi and Maaddey Diil after kidnapping them on July 27 in the coastal town of Merca, some 90 kilometers (56 miles) from the capital Mogadishu.

“The Islamists kidnapped and eventually beheaded the Christians after they refused to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ,” ICC said. The four Christians had reportedly been working for a local non-governmental organization that helps orphans in southern Somalia.

Yet people all over the world choose Christ over life.  Can you make any sense out of it?  The sanity is found in a single word, love.  We are to love others as Christ loved us.  The bar has been raised.  The standard has been set.

To deny Christ is to choose death.  To embrace Christ is to have life.  It is really that simple.

It is the desire of my heart that God be Lord of my life. Life’s experiences have killed the old man and God is building a new creation in me. I look forward to experiencing the new man God creates in the old vessel known as Archie via "God Spots".

  1. Hi Archie;

The Nazis went to Church, the Ku Klux Klan used the bible to support their warped views.

If America decided to succumb to Islamic Law, the Christians would be killing too.

The Christians are victims in this story. The Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, closer to my time, Christian boarding schools for Indians are examples of Christians stepping over the line. I know Christians who supported the invasion of Iraq and still do. A lot more that 20 or thirty were tortured and killed in that little game.

No, I am not baiting this time either. You posted in a public forum, I am answering in a public forum. I have been in Church where the Pastor openly suggested that Catholics were below the Baptists. It was a Baptist Church.

    That is inflammatory.

Those Islamic murderers you mention have succumbed to the base nature within all of us if the right circumstances come to play.

It appears that hate is alive and well.

Then again, did these Christian workers suggest to the Islamic people they were going to hell unless they convert?

How would you like it if a bunch of people from another religion dropped in San Antonio, set up shop near your church, smile a lot and love you, but tell you God is going to send all the parishioners to hell if they don’t convert.

It may incite a few people.

Not too many miles away from where you live, people are getting beheaded and tortured regularly. Different reason, same results.

    Why?

Fear works. Would Christianity work if there was no threat of Hell?

I have a funny feeling there would be no religion if it weren’t for hell. 🙂

  2. Here’s the point. You need proof that there is a God? Ask the guy that is having his finger nails pulled out if He believes. I am only impressed to listen to the one who has paid the price to have a voice. Talk is cheap without the price having been paid.

  3. Not proof there is a God, what they say is God.

If he is having his nails ripped out he is wondering, I am sure, I sure would be.

The one who paid the price said, “Father, father, why have you forsaken me.”

You tell me if that is a lie. Last words he spoke.
