Pretty much most of my adult life, I have been working on discernment
of whether the thought I get in my head is of God or if it is just
some random thought created by my brain being engaged. This morning
before I got up, I had a couple thoughts that were very negative
toward a couple people. These thoughts were replacing some very
positive thoughts I normally have about the same people.
conflict is I have been told by a well respected clergy, that the evil
ones can not place thoughts in the head of a believer. I’m told bad
thoughts naturally come because of my Adamic nature. Basically, I’m
just naturally bad so bad thoughts come. Then, the next guy comes along and tells me that sure the evil ones
can put thoughts in the head of a believer. No big deal for them.
They do it all the time. So you see, I have conflict. What do you

I could have a little fun with this, but won’t.
Who knows how the brain functions. I have negative thoughts about people too. It is not because we are bad, that is nonsense.
Temptation is like inspiration, anything could trigger it. Usually bad thoughts are pronounced when stressed out, worried, or tired. What bad means to one person may not be the same to another.
You can love people, but not like all of them. There is a difference. I love the human race, doesn’t mean I love Adolf Hitler.
I think you are human! I’m not a believer, but I was at one time. So take my comment with a grain of salt, but I think you are working too hard at this. Best to you.

As Ich knows I am passionate in trying to understand how one can be a believer but then not be one. If you care to post more thoughts about how you deconverted, I would be interested. I personally don’t know if it is possible…

Archie, negative thoughts about people:
#1 we are human, satan is powerful. How do we overcome satan- staying in the Word. I believe satan can put thoughts into our minds — Eve and Satan
#2 Examine circumstances in the light of God’s Word.
#3 As Christians and human, satan does not want us to live Christ centered lives. Satan tried to get Jesus to do what satan wanted. Because Jesus defeated satan with God’s help we can defeat satan.
#4 Look at people – every person as God looks at that person.
