Cheer up! Don’t be afraid! Don’t weep! Child Arise!

For last weeks miracle in Honduras click here!.

Jesus is about to work a miracle or at least it seems like a miracle to us. He is about to bring a girl back to life. For Jesus it’s not a big deal, it no bigger than waking a girl from her sleep. He simply tells her to get up and get something to eat. Pretty cool.

It seems Jesus deals with the emotion of the people first. “Cheer up! Don’t be afraid! Don’t weep!” and then takes action. “Child Arise!” I think that speaks to us. We should not let our emotions get in the way of allowing Jesus to do His work through us. Realize and appreciate we are an emotional creature, but set emotions aside and get about our Father’s work.

“Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t trouble the Teacher.” But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”

When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother. All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, “Don’t weep. She isn’t dead, but sleeping.”

They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead. But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, “Child, arise!”

Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.
Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.

Now that is the God I choose to serve. He is alive and well. He is still in the miracle business,

It is the desire of my heart that God be Lord of my life. Life’s experiences have killed the old man and God is building a new creation in me. I look forward to experiencing the new man God creates in the old vessel known as Archie via "God Spots".
