There are people who are hurting this Christmas season. They didn’t do anything to deserve the hurt. The pain found them.
For some, they have a health issue that is dogging them and have experienced little relief. It has impacted their ability to work and provide for their family.
.
For others, the wage earner has ditched their better half and left them to fend for themselves while attempting to survive on minimum wage.
.
Still for others, the job market has tightened up and people have been laid off.
.
These people are good people. These people love God and are trying to do what is right by God and for their families. But sadly, they are hurting. There will be a Christmas this year, it just won’t be for them.
.
I know Christmas is not about the money. It is about the Love of God, but tell that person how much God loves them as the sheriff comes by to evict them from their home. Tell the person about the Love of God when they tell their children there will be no presents, family or friends for Christmas.
.
I have a friend who stumbled on an elderly women with nothing. Her husband dumped her for younger woman. She was sleeping on the floor of an empty apartment. My friend told all his friends that he wanted to help this lady. He borrowed a truck from an uncle and is now out collecting furnishing for this elderly lady. My friend will make a difference and is “proving out LOVE in the doing“.
.
What will you do this Christmas season for another? I know of needs among my blog friends. If you have some extra resources and want to help someone, I’ll be happy to hook you up with those in need.
.
As for the Grace Point family, we have an incredible benevolent ministry. Hurting people come by the church office almost daily with needs that are heart felt. This is a great time of year to dig deep and invest in other people’s lives through this giving ministry.
.
God bless and please prove out your love in the doing….

first AMEN to this post–and so envious of a “church” with a giving ministry—honestly went to my “church” several times and nothing.
but anyways i am writing to say i would love to help out somehow—i ain’t got much–I can offer prayers—but would be happy to send a card, email, or something to bring an uplift, smile, or show the feeling that someone cares-or i do have old clothes of mine and my sons i could pack up and send off somewhere to someone, or you could get to someone–i know it aint much, but if there is anyway i can help let me know–will do what i can.
if not let me say here–i don’t know you, but i too have my own struggles—and wanted to let everyone know i will pray for you, and even though you don’t know me—i/someone care 🙂

You are awesome lost sheep. May we all be as lost as you. I have your email address. I know of a young lady that I think you two can help each other in different ways. Will it be ok if I provide her with your email address? Then, you two can hook up?
God bless you and your family,
archie
yes that would be great–thanks
WOW! My friend helping the elderly lady just called. He could not pick up my stuff, because his truck was FULL of other peoples donated stuff. That is absolutely fabulous! It speaks for the beautiful heart of those that love the Lord!
Thank you Mr. Fred!
Hi Archie;
Merry Christmas to you and yours. Helping the less fortunate is a gift unto itself, is it not? 🙂
True. Helping others is a gift of life….

I have long be a proponent of not just random acts of kindness but deliberate acts of love. It is so easy to find someone in need and it is also so easy to find ways to help them. And it’s not just about the doing, it’s about loving through works. They are supposed to see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. We don’t do it in order to receive God’s love. We do it because of His love.
Merry Christmas!!!
My husband has also given me my act of love today, He drove me to my moms in Houston yesterday. Well we were not coming home till late tonight due to me being at work tomorrow, but we came home sooner because he was on call this weekend and wouldnt you know it, a water main broke. So my husband got me home safe and is out in the cold this very moment fixing the water main. Please pray for him. Prayer for speedy repair job with no set backs, also that he wont get sick.
Your husband is a good man. 🙂
