“Haiti is cursed or is it? God knows…” ~priest

God does LOVE! God does HATE! Haiti is a country with witchcraft and satanic worship strongly practiced. It is said historically that a ruler of Haiti made a deal with the devil years back. Truth is truth. We can’t change truth no matter how much we don’t like it.

Sometimes we believers will neglect the power of satan. As to the plight of Haiti, only God knows. God will at times remove His protective covering from you, I and nations….. just sayin’…
.
Tremendous suffering is very likely without God’s direct intervention in our lives.  Even with God’s involvement, satan is at work to do his damnedest to destroy the loved ones of Jesus.
.
A personal thread of what is happening in Haiti can be found here.   Haiti Devastation .

It is the desire of my heart that God be Lord of my life. Life’s experiences have killed the old man and God is building a new creation in me. I look forward to experiencing the new man God creates in the old vessel known as Archie via "God Spots".

  1. Stephanie McEntire Who cares? Do you think in the face of any suffering that Jesus was concerned about debating the why of it? Or..did he just love it anyway.

Archie Rhines I think you have missed the point. Although, it is unlikely God will inflict pain, God can do what ever He chooses like it or not. There is Biblical evidence of God removing His protective covering or His protection not implemented. Why else to you pray for His protection. If it automatically covered all your needs with His love, you wouldn’t need to pray and Jesus would not have needed to die on the cross.

Jeff Stewart “Haiti is a country with witchcraft and satanic worship strongly practiced.” sounds presumptuous. The rest of what you said is a good personal reflection. US probably has more (although not per-capita) who do the same. I *do* resonate with your subsequent post in identifying with the rigorous consequences of missing the mark.

Archie Rhines God is love. I love you guys. I love passion. God loves passion. I believe God’s grace rewrote life as humans experience it. But I don’t believe grace keeps God from doing whatever He wants. The presumption would be for me to tell you what God is doing in Haiti or allowing to happen in Haiti. As I said, “God knows”.

Mary Landry I say let God be the judge in all things. Pray for all of them in Haiti. May God show mercy & love May he put his hand over Haiti with his healing power .Stephanie I agree with you…I would hope people are not becoming a Christian because they want a insurance policy. Jeff Stewart Luke 13 1Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

6Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. 7So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’

8″ ‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’ ”

Jeff Stewart The key is Jesus’ challenge is “Do you think? …unless you…” The parable emphasizes the grand patience of God and not the selective indignation.

Archie Rhines I love this thought, “…the grand patience of God”

  2. I am mostly amazed that we still think we know God. Regardless of how much scripture we know and read, regardless of the hours spent in studying, regardless of how many theologians we can quote, God is still far larger than any box we can put around him.
I believe there is no way for us to fully understand or comprehend the “Why’s” of circumstances like the destruction of Haiti. But we don’t understand the Crusades and the death that followed them in the name of Christ. We don’t understand the death and destruction of our own Civil War or World Wars I and II…or the results of the tsunami that destroyed so many lives not too many years back.
What I love is reading the scriptures that say “…and Jesus was moved by compassion…”….
That it truly what is needed today in this situation.

  3. 1. There is no historical proof of a deal with the devil.
    2. The devil does not have power over natural disasters.
    3. God did not cause the earthquake.
    4. When the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere is a 90 minute flight from Miami and the church does mostly nothing, maybe it is time for us to repent.

  4. MC. I must differ. The story of Job is proof enough of what the evil one wants and can do. As for repentance, distance has nothing to do with need. We all need repentance, for all have sinned. God bless. archie

  5. God is the creator of the universe. Life and death are determined by Him and Him alone. We will never understand why or why not. It’s not even worth debating unless you really don’t understand that fact about God. I agree with Archie. He does talk to God. Archie has an amazing relationship with his God, his Lord and is always obedient to the Holy Spirit. I pray for those who have made comments on this page who are having a hard time with what Archie said about God, I pray that you do worship the ink on the page because it tells us that the Word became man and dwelt upon us, that the Word of God is living and active, that it was inspired by the Holy Spirit. Ask God what you need to know. Stop wasting your time debating it with others and make the time to ask the only One who has all the answers.

  6. Hi Archie;

You wrote “One can not rewrite the Bible for our own comfort”

Check out the Codex Sinnaticus, the world’s oldest bible and you will realize the bible has been rewritten for someone’s comfort.

Pat Robertson is a fool for saying that.

The children are innocent, aren’t they? Or are they paying for the deed of their fathers.

It was just an earthquake, that is all. One with terrible consequences.

I don’t believe for a moment God had anything to do with this. If God did, why play games? Get rid of all the bad actors with the snap of the holy fingers.

Why deal with any of us sinners? Wipe the slate clean and start over 🙂

Teri Undreiner yes… and consume the great enemies, sin and death. Come quickly Lord Jesus! Fire is good. It burns up all the crap and the things that don’t last. It often gets the good stuff too. Think of a volcano. When all is brought to ashes, underground is happening something beautiful. Beauty for ashes. His fire consumes all that is flesh. The Spirit will thrive. Teri Undreiner Interesting…..Here’s my thought on satan. It is he that comes to kill, steal, and destroy.. so… if a country is actively involved in serving him… I think that it is HE that stirs up disastor even on his own followers. He is deceptive to the core so even if he promises something to his followers, he cannot fulfill anything but lies and deceit. So.. just as sin condemns the sinner, so satan decieves himself and his followers. Andrew Wommack has a great treaching on ” Who Made Satan”? You can download or listen to it online at andrewwomnmackministries.org. It is the best I have ever heard concerning the “apposer”.

Also have you ever seen the “Transformations” videos? Powerful things happen when a Nation turns to Unity and prayer.

Joey Pierson Satan also means the abuser, depending on Hebrew or Greek translation
    2 hours ago ·

Archie Rhines I’ve listened to Andrew Wommack intensely in times past. Before it turned to snow… I enjoyed and learned from him.

I have heard from former satanists, that they were able to perform miracles in the name of satan. I was not there. I’m just sayin’ satan is a liar and thief, but never the less able to create havoc in a powerful way.

But Jesus kicked him in the teeth on the cross and God is greater than the most insignificant worm that satan is! Thank you Jesus!

  8. I asked a friend… Have I been fair in the treatment of Haiti? She says,…

My opinion—–Yes! God is the giver and taker of life rather we want to have peace with that or not.

Ps. 139 says, He forms us in our mothers womb and He knows the number of days that are ordained for us. In the midst of tragedy we sometimes hate to think that God’s hand was in it yet did he create this world, is He the One who sustains the earth on it’s axis, and who made the stars.

Do we think he is limited in where, when or how an earthquake happens? No, never! Although this is hard to understand and easy to ask why, the God I serve is in control and has a plan far greater than I could ever perceive, so for me I will just continue to pray for God’s plan and purpose to abound in Haiti and await to hear the testimonies of those Christ followers who endure the pain and sufffering of such a great tragedy.

Glory and honor to our Lord can come through circumstances that we think are tragic! Just look at my own walk! Keep up the “good” work, the Lord is smiling on you!

  9. Ich. In a previous comment you said in part… ” Pat Robertson is a fool for saying that. The children are innocent, aren’t they? Or are they paying for the deed of their fathers. It was just an earthquake, that is all. One with terrible consequences.

All your points are well taken, even the one about the Bible I didn’t copy.. But, there is a glaring piece missing… “The adversary”… Was he sleeping while this happened? Was he on the toilet? Where was he? Maybe he tarried for just a moment from his going, “to and fro”?

  10. Hi Archie;

Satan or Lucifer, which I believe are the same confuse many people. The Morning Star as Lucifer is known as is the so-called prince of deception or the lie, not of natural disasters.

When you look around the world today, what is prevalent?

    The lie.

From Pat Robertson to Rush Limbaugh and other areas of life which have nothing to do with Haiti.

We in the industrialized nations are led to believe we are “superior” to those poor folk in Haiti and our economic status, clean streets, nice homes and vehicles “prove” it.

Pat kindly informs us that a couple of Haitians drank some blood one night and sold their souls to Satan in exchange for getting rid of the French invaders.

Haiti pays as God or Satan is angry. It was implied.

Was God angry when 9/11 occurred? That was performed with mankind, something that the lie influenced.

I am mortal, not God and definitely not a demon or evil.

I take this occurrence as a natural disaster caused by physics. Satan had nothing to do with it. The stuff which will be occurring in the future, such as large amounts of aid money disappearing and things like that because of greed etc, that is another issue entirely.

  11. Hi Archie;

I have often thought about this. If Satan truly exists and his deception could fool even the “elect”, how do you know he hasn’t had his hand in the writing or compilation of the bible?

  12. Where you differ. Consider: Scripture is largely stories. There’s a whole story, a whole book, about Job, and about what he didn’t know. And his friends didn’t know, either. Why are these bad things happening?

Job didn’t know, and admitted it. He questioned God, but remained faithful. He was rewarded richly.

His friends didn’t know, but thought they did. They thought they knew the mind of God. They flapped their mouths. They had reasonable-sounding religious answers.

    And they were fools.
