“A strange thing happened this am…”~Teri

Teri Undreiner A strange thing happened this am as I was reading my devotional. Got my coffee and cookie and went outside to read it. Was reading the part about when the people came to Jesus and said, “what must WE do to work the works of God”? Jesus said, ” THIS is the WORK of God, to believe on Him that sent me.”

I kid YOU not. I closed the devotional to ponder such a thought and this purely white dove flew out of my tree down to my chair and just hung out there! I put my hand out and it came over to my hand like a cat or a dog!!! Is that normal for doves????

I talked to the little thing for a minute and it was sitting there looking up at me as if it were listening!! Is that normal??? Then it strutted away slowly, flew up to the roof and it was gone!

So… me, being me, thought deeper about that passage. The WORK of God is to believe on Jesus. He paid it all . And it is actually the WORK of God to be able to believe on Jesus. You can’t just drum it up. The religious people of the day and still today think that ya have to do all this stuff to “get” God to like you. He just wants to hang with us, I think. A white dove always represented the Holy Spirit in the Bible. YA THINK?

It is the desire of my heart that God be Lord of my life. Life’s experiences have killed the old man and God is building a new creation in me. I look forward to experiencing the new man God creates in the old vessel known as Archie via "God Spots".

  1. That is powerful! Thank you for sharing in what God did to authenticate His presence. God bless and may peace beyond your expectations rest upon you…Your brother in Christ, archi

  2. You are right on target. Works of faith are one thing, but many people “work” to find favor with the Lord. Good point made here. Thanks!
