If you want to keep a fish from growing to it’s “normal” size,, you have to put it in a very small tank or bowl. Eventually.. it will develop abnormalities/deformities, IF it’s strong enough to survive, or die at the smaller size because it’s internal organs will continue to grow.
I thought this was so interesting when compared to the “normal” christian life. Many of us are not in our natural habitiat or are trying to conform to someone else’s tank/bowl/vision.
The question then, is one of growth. Am I growing where I am or am I being “stunted”? Is where I am RIGHT now allowing my “inner” life to develop normally? I’m talking about life in general, not neccessarily where you go to church. I’m talking about the “whole” tank situation in our lives. It’s a really good question and not only for believers.
Excellent point! As we grow don’t be surprised if the Lord wants you in a bigger tank. Good insight. Thanks, Teri!
Great thought. Thanks for sharing, Teri.
