You and I are of Great Value

Guest post by my friend… Jim of Mozambique. Deep truth….
In Matthew chapter 13 we have Jesus telling some stories.
In the pearl story, a man who was searching for pearls. He found a pearl that was immeasureable in value – presumably in the market – and went and sold everything he had in order to buy the pearl.

In the other story a man found a treasure hidden in a field.  He sold everything he had in order to buy the field, so that he could obtain the treasure.

Jesus said that these stories were about the Kingdom of God.  Teachers often use them to instruct us how we must give all in order to obtain the Kingdom or some variation of that.  The idea being that we are not going to get all the riches that God has for us without cutting loose from all the things of the world that hold us.

And these interpretations are totally in error.

Both stories are the same.  Jesus was telling the same story using several illustrations.  In both stories you are NOT the man searching for pearls, nor are you the man who finds the treasure.  In both stories YOU are the pearl AND YOU are the treasure!   Papa God is the man in the story.  He is the one who is searching for rare pearls.

You are the pearl. He gave everything heaven had to purchase you!   He is the man who finds the treasure in the field.  You are the treasure.   He gave everything to get you!
You are more valuable than you think.
Papa God was willing to bankrupt heaven to get you!

You did not accept Jesus.  He accepted you.  You did not choose Him.

He chose you.

Get rid of the “I got saved” mindset and begin to develop the “He saved me” mindset.  Salvation is of the Lord.  He began it.  He continues it.  He finishes it.  It was never you.  It will never be you.  It is all of the Lord.

BECAUSE you are EXTREMELY valuable to God!

You need to know that.

Let it soak in.

It is the desire of my heart that God be Lord of my life. Life’s experiences have killed the old man and God is building a new creation in me. I look forward to experiencing the new man God creates in the old vessel known as Archie via "God Spots".
