I love Christmas. I love presents. I love to give presents on Christmas. Sometimes, it seems Christmas gets a bad rap. You know how the message goes. “We are not giving gifts this Christmas. We are just going to remember the reason for Christmas and that’s enough.”
Forget about it! What a cheap shot at the reason for Christmas. Christ was all about giving. He gave to those He loved. He was born. He died. He rose again, giving the biggest gift He had.
The Word says, “It is more blessed to give than receive.” I’m going to do my part this year. I am going to shop ’til it hurts with what little cash I have and buy as many gifts as I can. I like to give . It’s what I do.
The next time you hear someone say, they are not going to give gifts this year. FORGET ABOUT IT! Give and give some more. It will bless the One who gave it all.
That’s pretty cool. You can throw a few million bucks at an encylopedia
You can invest in youth today to help build a better tomorrow!
How’s the song go? Zacchaeus was a wii little man, a wii little man was he?
“Then Jesus entered and walked through Jericho. There was a man there, his name Zacchaeus, the head tax man and quite rich. He wanted desperately to see Jesus, but the crowd was in his way—he was a short man and couldn’t see over the crowd. So he ran on ahead and climbed up in a sycamore tree so he could see Jesus when he came by.
When Jesus got to the tree, he looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, hurry down. Today is my day to be a guest in your home.” Zacchaeus scrambled out of the tree, hardly believing his good luck, delighted to take Jesus home with him. Everyone who saw the incident was indignant and grumped, “What business does he have getting cozy with this crook?”
Zacchaeus just stood there, a little stunned. He stammered apologetically, “Master, I give away half my income to the poor—and if I’m caught cheating, I pay four times the damages.”
Jesus said, “Today is salvation day in this home! Here he is: Zacchaeus, son of Abraham! For the Son of Man came to find and restore the lost.””
What are you willing to give this Christmas season IF Jesus chooses to visit your house?
What prevents you from seeing Jesus?
