I want to do something special for God this year. I want to put a picture of Him in a frame and hang him along side of Jesus.
Now don’t take offense. I know many of you have a picture of Jesus hanging on the wall right alongside of Elvis. I think it is time to hang a picture of God.
This is where the trouble begins. What is the picture going to be? No one has seen the face of God and lived to tell about it. Moses saw the backside of His glory. That was a start but doesn’t help me.
Can anyone help me with your idea of what goes in the picture? Possibly, I should put…
- A beautiful sunset
- A walk on the beach
- Two love birds
- Giving $5 to the “bell ringer”
- Standing on the corner yelling Jesus
What do you think? What should I put in the picture? OK. You read the blog. I see you. There you are. A few hundred of you are lurking. Now you are grinning. I told you I could see you.
Now click on comments and give a word or two of your picture of God. Do it anonymously if you must. Come on. Click. You can do it. Put your fear behind. That’s it. Click. Thanks!
This one always does it for me: http://iasos.com/audioclp/StairwayToHeaven-D-4d.jpg
AWESOME! And thank you! Merry Christmas from Texas!
My baby boy.
I keep seeing the lepers that Mother Teresa ministered to….
A loving husband caring for his hospitalized wife, special needs kids and still working full-time. His wife, worried that she is a burden to him and wanting to somehow make things easier for him.
Great thought, Jim. You get it!
Thanks Cheryl. God’s glory shines bright.
I’m a big Caedmon’s Call nut so I am reminded of a song off their first album called “Not Enough”….
I find direction in eastbound clouds
And long for what they have
But when I step into its midst
Its substance I cannot grasp
So I paint a portrait of you
As if you had human disguise
With oil and canvas to be clay
To open up their eyes
“like you opened up my eyes
We try so often to frame a picture of God for others to show them what we are so excited about…and though we might succeed must like the mist we step into…we can experience God fully but will never be able to describe fully what it means or feels like.
Thanks Phillip. Our faith is so simple, yet our God so complex. It is nice to know Him. His glory shines through us when we tell others what little we know.
